This post is an introduction for new air fryer owners. Package directions on foods from the grocery store freezer do not always translate to your new air fryer. So it takes some trial and error, which I’ve done for you. Cooking a package of frozen french fries that turned hard as rocks was once one of my first big errors. A bag of Totino’s pizza rolls takes less time to cook in the air fryer than in the oven. And the texture is so much better!
How to air fry pizza rolls
I am giving you the most important information first. But don’t go away! There are so many delicious foods to make in your air fryer! Find all my best air fryer recipes by clicking here.
Frozen pizza bites air fry to perfection at 400 degrees F for 7 – 8 minutes. They are crisp and golden brown on the outside with piping hot gooey cheese on the inside. A favorite quick snack for most kids, including mine.
Pro tips
- It’s not necessary to use any extra oil because air fryer cooking baskets are nonstick. And I never recommend using aerosol cooking spray during the air fryer cooking process. It will damage the nonstick coating of the air fryer basket over time.
- One batch of pizza rolls means only cooking enough to fill the basket in a single layer. Don’t crowd or overlap your pizza rolls to ensue even cooking.
- I’ve found there is less mess to making air fryer pizza rolls. The constant hot air circulation in the air fryer basket heats the pizza rolls quickly without bursting open.
- Worth noting, I never microwave pizza rolls. I don’t like them if they aren’t crispy.
Serving suggestion
Be sure to serve your favorite dipping sauce like Ranch or tomato sauce with the pizza rolls. Also here’s some more of my recipes to turn pizza rolls into an easy meal for a movie night at home –
- Italian Chopped Salad
- Copycat Lou Malnati’s Salad
- Deviled Strawberries
- Strawberry Balsamic Shortcake
Storage directions
Store any leftover pizza rolls in an airtight container. They will stay fresh in the refrigerator for 3 – 4 days.

These turned out to be so much better than the store bought version of pizza rolls! And I love that they were healthier too since they were air fried and not actually fried!
