The constant hot air circulating in the small space of an air fryer works magic on meat. In this case yielding perfectly cooked hot dogs. I used to think air frying would yield overly cooked and dry meat. But the opposite is true. A nice sear happens on the outside of your choice of protein. But the inside remains tender, juicy and delicious. After cooking these juicy hot dogs, butter and toast the buns too!

Ingredients for air fryer hot dogs recipe
- Hot Dogs – I personally prefer the Hebrew National brand of all-beef hot dogs. It’s what I tested the recipe with. But by all means use your own favorite brand of hot dogs.
- Buns and Butter – You can’t beat a freshly fried hot dog served on a buttery, toasted bun. Use your favorite brand.
- Favorite Toppings – Mine include Skyline chili and cheese. I am a Cincinnati girl after all. I also enjoy a classic Chicago style hot dog.
- Favorite Condiments – Ketchup, mustard, pickles, sauerkraut. The sky is the limit for how you choose to serve your hot dogs!
Instructions
Poke the hot dogs several times with a fork and then add them to the air fryer basket in a single layer. Cook at 375 degrees F for about 7 minutes. They’ll be starting to brown and some of the grease will have released and drained off.
Butter the insides of the hot dog buns and place the crispy hot dogs inside. Put the hot dog filled buns back in the basket of the air fryer and heat at 350 degrees F for 1 minutes. It melts the butter and lightly toasts them. Yum!
