Serve these meatloaf sliders at your next party and everyone will be asking you for the recipe. You might want to double the recipe when you serve them because they won’t last long.
I saw this technique for cooking ground beef for sliders HERE and I thought it was so smart! But instead of just a plain cheeseburger slider I wanted something a little more unique. Lots of people like meatloaf. That sauce served on meatloaf makes a really tasty topping for sliders. Add some fried onions and cheddar cheese and we’ve got some seriously crowd-pleasing sandwiches.
And they take practically no time to throw together. That is my kind of party snack. Quick and simple but with a WOW factor. Sliders are pretty standard these days – ham and cheese, meatball, buffalo chicken. But I hadn’t tried a meatloaf slider until now. Put these on your menu for your next gathering. The Super Bowl is coming up soon!
I’ve teamed up with some of my football-loving friends to bring you some brilliant Super Bowl recipe ideas, in addition to my Meatloaf Sliders. We’ve made appetizers, entrees, desserts and even drinks. Prepare to be inspired, and be sure to check out their links below my recipe.
- 1 1/4 pounds grass fed ground beef
- 1 package meatloaf seasoning I used McCormick brand
- 2 tablespoons light brown sugar
- 1/3 cup ketchup
- 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 cup fried onions
- 1 1/2 cups sharp cheddar cheese shredded
- 12 slider buns
- 2 tablespoons butter
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
In a 9x13 baking dish mix together the beef and meatloaf seasoning mix. Lightly press the beef in an even layer in the bottom of the dish.
Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.
Slice the slider buns even in half. Use two spatulas to carefully lift the large meatloaf "burger" and place it on the bottom half of the slider buns.
Stir together the brown sugar, ketchup, mustard and Worcestershire sauce until smooth.
Spread the sauce on top of the meatloaf. Spread the fried onions on top of the sauce. Spread the shredded cheese on top of the onions. Place the top half of the buns on top of the cheese.
Place the 12 sliders carefully in a clean 9x13 baking dish.
Melt the butter and brush evenly over the tops of the buns.
Cover the dish with foil and bake the sliders for 20 minutes. Slice the sliders apart with a sharp knife. Serve.
