Ingredients

  • 10 bags tea use standard size tea bags of your favorite brand
  • 16 cups water divided
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 cup fresh mint leaves loosely packed
  • 1/4 cup fresh lime juice

Instructions

  • In a large sauce pan or stock pot, bring 8 cups of water and 1/4 cup of sugar to a boil until the sugar is dissolved. Remove the water from the heat and add the tea bags and mint leaves. Stir to combine so they are fully submerged and cover with a lid. Let the tea mixture brew (steep) for 5 minutes. Longer if you like a stronger tea flavor.
  • Remove both the tea bags and mint leaves. Pour the concentrated tea into a gallon-sized pitcher or jug. Add the remaining 8 cups of cold water and 1/4 cup of fresh lime juice.
  • Refrigerate until ready to serve. Pour over ice and garnish with a sprig of mint and lime slices.

Notes

I like my iced tea lightly sweet. Add more sugar if you like your iced tea more sweet.
