Halloween Classmate Gift to benefit The Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption

Did you know that there are more than 100,000 children in foster care awaiting adoption?  Thanks to Wendy’s® consumers and the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption®, 4,000+ children have found adoptive families. Ninety cents of every $1 Halloween Coupon Book sold between September 13 – October 31, 2014 will benefit the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption®. Coupons are valid for use: November 1, 2014 through February 1, 2015. This year, Wendy’s® aims to give $10 million to The Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption®.

I purchased ten Halloween Coupon Books today from the drive-thru, while also grabbing some lunch, talk about convenient! Fifty coupons cost me only $10 and nine of those dollars will go directly to The Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption, encouraging families to foster and adopt children in need all over the country. I love giving gifts that give back, don’t you?

I created this free printable for you (simply “save as” and print best quality as an 8 1/2 x 11 document) so these gifts are a snap to put together for your children’s classmates (and teachers) this Halloween! Bonus is that these little gift bags are completely peanut-free for school, an automatic necessity these days. I purchased these mummy bags and “frightful” glow-in-the-dark fingers from my local Target. Each child gets a free Frosty and a funny finger, plus the wish for no more Halloween “shivers”. Get it, a Frosty makes you shiver? I crack myself up.

Anyway, my children both have loved Frostys from an early age thanks to my mom. It’s her go-to treat and in the early days of raising my kiddos, grandma would drive down to Cincinnati to visit and inevitably pick up Frostys for all of us. Sometimes they’d be more a late-night treat for just my mom and I after the kids were off to bed. Also fun!

I think these Frosty coupons are such a great thing. You’re donating to help kids find families, but you are getting something in return, to then turn around and give again. They are the ultimate “pay-it-forward” thing… you could even include some in “Random Act of Kindness” gifts. I know I’ll be purchasing some more of these booklets for our Halloween Trick-or-Treat night and I encourage you to do the same.  Hurry because they’ll be gone after October 31st!
